UFC 232 was slated to be at the T-Mobile arena this Saturday December 29th. Instead on 7 days notice the UFC has decided to move the event to The Forum in Inglewood California. Following the recent news that small trace amounts of the drug turinabol have been found in Jon Jones’ system. Jones who is slated to be the main event of UFC 232, previously popped for the same substance after his fight with Daniel Cormier almost a year and a half ago. The move to California comes because the NSAC refused to allow Jones to fight there. The California state athletic commission sees no point to punish Jones a second time for his actions and will allow UFC 232 to take place at The Forum.

Andy Foster, The head of the CSAC explained it well by saying ” The metabolite that was found in this last test is the same metabolite that was found in the test from 2017″. Meaning both of the samples are from the same occurrence. A very similar situation took place with NBA player Allonzo Trier and the NCAA. In 2016 Trier was popped for Turinabol and was suspended. The NCAA later determined that Trier unknowingly ingested the substance and therefore reinstated him. Then in early 2018 he was suspended again for the same drug. After reviewing the case and determining that it was the same Metabolite, he was once again reinstated by the NCAA. Being as though Turinabol stays in your system for 12-18 months, its very believable that both of these athletes could have accidentally ingested the drug, and then accidentally popped for the same reason a short time later.

The move to California is at a disturbance to both the fans and the fighters. The fighters who come from all over the world, will now have to fly again from Vegas to California. They will also have to pay a huge tax on the money they take home. Not to mention the fans, for the ones who purchased tickets to UFC 232 will now be refunded. Fans who booked hotels will now have to pay fees to cancel their rooms. Thousands of dollars spent in redirecting flights from Vegas to California. The entire situation has come out to be a disaster to everyone except the UFC. Reason being is that although they will lose money on the gate of the event, this brings a lot of publicity to the event and also keeps their main attraction on the card. Their only other alternative option would be for them to find a new opponent on a weeks notice. Even if they did, Jones is looking at 400k PPV buys easy. Anyone else in that slot can do no more then 300k and the UFC knows that.

UFC fight night 140 took place in Argentina. A true home game for Santiago Ponzinibbo as he defeated Neil Magny via knock out. The Co-main event was Ricardo Lamas defeating Darren Elkins via TKO.

Santiago Ponzinibbo

Ponzinibbo is hot and fresh off a seven fight win streak. His latest drawing the attention of another young powerful striker in Darren Till. A battle of the two best pure strikers would headline great for a European card that Dana White has announced for 2019. Although Till is coming off a loss in his title bout, he is still ranked as the #2 contender in welterweight while Santiago sits at #7. With everyone in between being either booked for a fight in the future or being named Steven Thompson, this would surely be the most entertaining match to make next for Ponzinibbo.

Next Match: Santiago Ponzinibbo(7) vs Darren Till(2)

Neil Magny

The loss this past Saturday pushed Magny back to the #11 rank in the 170 pound division. At his age and at this point in his career, it would be interesting to see him fight a guy like Donald Cerrone who is ranked at #12. Another attractive match-up would be Magny vs Gunnar Nelson. Nelson’s last fight was a knock out loss to Santiago Ponzinibbo way back in the summer of 2017. After more then a year off the #14 ranked Nelson would be a great opponent for Magny.

Next Match: Neil Magny (#11) vs Gunnar Nelson (#14)

Ricardo Lamas

With this win Lamas moves into the #11 spot in the featherweight division. The top ten in featherweight is currently being held in a little logjam due to the hold off in the Holloway vs Ortega. That being said his best possible road to take next would be Cub Swanson. Swanson is currently ranked higher at #7 in the UFC’s featherweight division and is on a three fight losing streak.

Next Match: Ricardo Lamas (#11) vs Cub Swanson (#7)

Darren Elkins

The Loss to Lamas brought Elkins to the #15 spot in the UFC’s featherweight division. Being on the cuff of the ranking system, Elkins should get the best possible fight next. Chan Sung Jung just came off a depressing knock out loss to Yair Rodriguez. In witch he was dominating the majority of the fight until being clipped by an elbow at the last second of the last round. The Korean Zombie is known for two things, Chin and Cardio. Being ranked slightly higher at #13 this is the perfect match the UFC could make.

Next match: Darren Elkins(#15) vs Chan Sung Jung(#13)

Jhonny Walker

Walker had himself an impressive knock out win over Khalil Roundtree in his UFC debut. Showing an impressive level of talent in the striking part of his game, He will likely be moved to a ranked opponent next. The First fighter that comes to mind is Nikita Krylov. Coming off of two losses to Misha Cirkunov at UFC 206 and Jan Blachowicz back in September, Krylov is ranked at #15 in the UFC light heavyweight division.

Next Match: Jhonny Walker vs Nikita Krylov(#15)

The bulls traveled to New York to take on the knicks on January 10,2018. A interesting match up between two young teams that have showed glimpses of promise throughout this season. The Bulls with there young speed guard combo of Kris Dunn and Jerin Grant, with key role players like Justin Holiday, Nikola Mirotic, and Denzel Valentine. Their biggest addition though has definitely been the teams rookie, Lauri Markkanen. Shooting the most made threes per game then any rookie has ever and carrying the bulls team on his back with the absence of Mirotic tonight would show to be the reason we got to experience the game that we did. The Knicks are also trying to build their team threw the fountain of youth. Making the star of the team third year player Kristaps Porzingis, hes showed he is the right guy to build the knicks franchise around. With the offseason additions of Michael Beasley and Enes Kanter the Knicks offensive game has been almost unstoppable when the three are healthy. Rookie Frank Ntilikina and second year player Ron Baker are Blossoming Frank as a defensive pest and Baker as a scrappy SG that plays with alot of heart. The game tonight went to Double OT and the bulls ending up winning the game 122-119. All through out the game the bulls had no answer for Michael Beasley, on the other hand the Knicks also had no answer from bulls big man Lauri Markkanen. Eventually a couple of poor shot choices and turnovers is what came to the demise of the knicks on this night. I must say as a knicks fan myself i always hate seeing us lose but it was good to see the fight they had in them and it was also good seeing that the team dosen’t have to rely on just one star player. At any time any point of the season anybody on the roster can have a good night. Check the stats:

Bulls 122  Knicks 119

Knicks :

Beasley: 26pts 12rbds

Jack: 16pts 10rbd 10asts

Porzingis: 24pts 6rbds 4blk

Markkanen: 33pts 10rbds

Valentine: 20pts 9rbds

Lopez: 20pts 7rbds

The New York Knicks are a young NBA team that is supposed to be in their first year of a rebuild this season with the recent trading of star forward Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks along side star forward Kristaps Porzingis have different thoughts in mind, sitting at 9th in the east at the moment they are in great position to make a late season run at the playoffs. Here are 6 ways i believe the Knicks can get there.

  1. Kristaps Porzingis needs to get out of his “tired” slump: Kristaps Porzingis has recently been is some heat as he admitted that the pressure of New York is getting to him and he is getting tired early in the season before the all star break. Impressing everyone in the beginning of the season with multiple 20-30 point games, he has significantly slowed down. His reasoning for this is that with the star role he is taking over he believes it is making his body tired and this is cause of his poor play.
  2. Enes Kanter needs to play like he wants a max contract: early preformances such as his christmas day game were he scored 31pts and 22rbds. He also is slowing down as of late scoring under 18 and getting less then 9rbds in his last 3 games. Although he is playing efficiently, his spark on offence is desperately needed with Porzingis playing the way he is.
  3. Tim Hardaway JR comes back from injury: Tim hardaway has been injured the entire month of December and has still not returned. I firmly believe that when Tim makes his return our offensive production will go way up and this can result in us getting the wins we need to get into the playoffs.
  4. Michael Beasley becomes more consistent: When playing with a good amount of minutes Michael Beasley has shown that he can  carry the knicks on his back. For example on a night where Beasley plays 15 mins he scores 6pts and 5rbds, another example is him getting 13mins and scoring 6pts and 2rbds. On the other end of the spectrum when the knicks foward played 26mins he scored 18pts and 9rbds. On another night when he played 25 mins he scored 20pts and 9rbds. Its obvious that when he plays more mins he can carry the scoring load for the knicks, in other words KEEP BEASLEY IN THE GAME.
  5. STAY HEALTHY: This season the Knicks have been plagued with injuries with Hardaway being out since the beginning of December, Frank the rookie was injured for about the first 5-8 games, and Kristaps and Enes have also had to miss a couple games of piece due to minor injuries. With all these key players healthy i believe the Knicks have a good chance and competing in the east.
  6. Rookies keep improving: The G- League is a great place, Dotson, Baker, and Burke are all improving in a big way playing in the G-league. The Improvement that Frank is showing us is in his defense and in his shot choice. He has always been a great defensive player but in the beginning of the season he had a thing for taking ill advised shots, now a days he has seemed to get his head wrapped around what shots to and not to take. Dotson showed flashes of a great wing man in his early games with the Knicks. Growing in the G-league is doing good for him as he has improved his speed and ball handling, hopefully making the knicks a threat in the years to come.

5 Places to eat while on East Coast US.

In my 23 years of life i have traveled many places, mostly along the east coast. Here are 5 places to eat if you ever find your self on the east coast of the united states.

  1. Di Fara Pizza: 1424 avenue J, New York. Operated since 1964 by Mr. Papa Pizza himself, one of the most original New York style pizzas you can get in the beautiful state of New York. Papa Pizza is originally from Italy witch is where his rich traditional Italian flavor comes from.
  2. Sonny’s Famous Steaks: 228 Market st, Philadelphia PA. 100% Angus beef sliced in house with fresh mozzarella, you should only eat the best while on your vacation. Sonny’s prides themselves as “The best Cheese steak in Philly”.
  3. Lenny’s New York Pizza: 1456 ocean shore blvd, Ormond Beach FL. Having ate at many pizza places in Florida i must say that Lenny’s comes the closest to emulating a New York slice inside the state of Florida.
  4. Michael’s Pizza 1701 N Kings hwy, Myrtle Beach SC. Living in SC for the majority of my adult life i can say i have tried up to 1,000 different pizza joints in South Carolina, although there are some places that are close, Michael’s has the closest taste to a original New York Slice. Also a quick 5 minute walk to the beach makes for a great bite to eat after a day on the Beach.
  5. Michelangelo’s: 794 Main st Center Moriches NY. Di Fara might have the best pizza in the city but Michelangelo’s takes the island by a long shot. Pizza in the city and on the island are only slightly different ,but in my personal opinion Long island pizza is a little better then city pizza.                                                                        Always eat the best. If your as passionate about your pizza and cheese steaks as i am make sure you choose these places to eat on the east coast, you wont regret it.
